Stories of the Moose
McDonald's Double Cheeseburger Kitty
The little Moose that ate cheeseburgers.
Once day, a friend brought over a McDonald's double cheeseburger for lunch. He placed the burger on his lap, opened it up, and rummaged around in the bad for the salt or pepper or something. Now, Moose had rarely seen Mickey D's at my place, so this was a rare treat indeed. Moose plops herself onto the couch, reaches over onto the lap with said burger, and tries to steal the patty right off the bun. Well now! It seems like kitty likes burgers.
Word of this gets back to an acquaintance (who happens to be McDonald's management) and double cheeseburgers started becoming a regular menu item at my place. Not on my plate, mind you, just on the Moose's plate. Each morning and evening I would hand-chop the cheesy patties into tiny morsels (remember, Moose had only one fang left!) for her little tummy. It was not unusual for her to gulp down two patties at a sitting, twice daily! I honestly don't know where she put it all, given she weighed less than 4 pounds at the time!
The trips to McDonald's become more frequent, and the employees just have to ask "do you have a dog or something?" "No, a cat.." Soon the story of the tiny, ancient cat that wolfs down plain double cheeseburgers makes the rounds at McDonald's all over the seacoast. Another friend of mine was at a McDonald's regional management conference where someone was recalling a far-fetched story of a tiny cat that eats double cheeseburgers. Said friend chuckled and proclaimed, "That's no story...I know that cat personally."
